Janana Yoga

This is the Yoga of Knowledge.   This yoga requires people of very sharp intellect.  In the modern times due to improper food habits and prevalent environmental conditions world over people with such an intellect are a rarity.    To succeed in this type of yoga the sense of reasoning has to be very astute.  The real and unreal have to be reasoned and differentiated.  One has to get above the body sense.    The divine play is to be understood.     The ego has to be shed to be able to get into higher stages of reality and thinking.   Gradually the hollowness of this world experience has to be realized.

This system involves systematic development of dispassion and distaste for worldly activities.  It involves diving deep within into the eternal.   The aspirant has to resort to Reading of Vedanta and understanding both the surface and the hidden meaning of the mantras given therein.   This would also involve getting at the root of the existence.

To a dedicated student it is easy, for most it is not so easy. It’s seen that many a student who set about upon this path on their own accord had to re-orientate themselves upon other disciplines of Yoga at a later stage.
